Boston Tea Party

TITLE: “Boston Tea Party”

ARTIST: Hanna-Barbera Studio

DATE: 1993

WHY WE CHOSE IT: On Dec. 16, 1773, in protest of the monopoly on American tea importation granted by Parliament to the East India Company, a group of Massachusetts Patriots seized 45 tons of tea in a midnight raid on three merchant ships and threw them into the harbor — this event would historically become known as the Boston Tea Party.
